About WhatsNext Systems
A design and development lab for the parts of a machine nobody sells off the shelf.
WhatsNext Systems is a design and development lab in Bengaluru, founded in 2025. We take a problem or an idea, write the specification it needs, and design and build the embedded hardware to meet it.
01 / Why the lab exists
The same hard layers, rebuilt in every drone company.
Battery management, long-range communications and perception are the layers drone OEMs and robotics teams keep building in-house, one project at a time — usually under deadline, and usually around off-the-shelf parts that were never designed for their machine.
WhatsNext began as client-funded research and integration work on exactly those layers. What kept coming back became products: MODB-BB and MODB-SB for battery management, and MODL-Core for datalinks. The lab work continues alongside them, and it is how every board gets configured for a customer’s system.

02 / How we build
The principles we work by.
We start with the problem.
Every product we make begins as a problem someone has. We write the specification from that problem and check each design choice against it.
Reliability first
Hardware that lives on an aircraft or a robot must never be the reason it fails. Our boards detect in silicon, report their own health, and never give misleading data — a missing sensor reads as unavailable, never as zero.
Open by default
Every limit is a documented parameter, every reading goes out on a standard bus, and the configuration belongs to the customer. No unlock codes, no vendor app between you and your data.
Your system decides
A BMS reports; the controller that runs the machine acts. Our boards carry no power switch in the pack path, so the decision to land, derate or stop stays with your system.
Modular, not bloated
The base board does the essential job. Current sensing, wireless links and switching arrive as plug-on modules, so a simple machine never pays for features it does not use.
Evidence over adjectives
Specifications carry their source. Design targets are marked as targets until they are measured on hardware, and datasheets are published openly.
Designed and supported in India
Engineered in Bengaluru, built from parts in stock at major distributors with second sources identified, and supported by the people who designed it.
03 / Founder
Harit Trivedi
Founder and Principal Architect
Harit designs battery, power-electronics and embedded systems for drones, defence platforms and EV infrastructure. Six years across MIL-STD VTOL battery packs, 45 kWh DC fast chargers, motor-control integration and BMS architecture for high-discharge platforms.
His work sits where firmware, silicon and flight dynamics stop pretending to be separate problems. Prior research includes neuromorphic engineering, event-based vision and urban air traffic management. He is an active FPV pilot (callsign supernova).
04 / Where to go next
Start with the problem, or with a product.
If you have a problem or an idea, start with how we work. If you already know the board you need, the product pages have the full specifications and datasheets.
Six steps
From your problem to a product, and what you get at each step.
CAPABILITYEvent-based vision
Cameras that see fast movement without blur.
PRODUCTSBattery boards and links
MODB-BB, MODB-SB and MODL-Core.
APPLICATIONSBeyond drones
Battery boards for robots, EVs, storage, marine and test benches.
